Vehicle Valeter Ferndown - Immediate Start

Abacus Vehicle Hire are an ambitious and growing company within the rental industry which is both fast paced and interesting. We are offering the successful applicant the opportunity to join a great team working from some of the best facilities in the industry.

What do we need from you?

To be successful in this position, you will need to demonstrate the following:

Excellent face to face communication skills
Ability to work within a team and on your own
Ability to work under pressure in a sometimes fast paced environment
Ability to learn and retain new skills and information
Excellent organisational and time management skills
Aged over 23 with a full UK car (manual) driving license and the ability to drive HGV vehicles around the yard
A willingness to work a 5-day shift (07:30 – 18:00) plus up to 1 in 2 Saturdays. Some Bank Holidays work may also be required which will be given back as days-in-lieu

What do we want you to do?

Be clean and tidy in your appearance and daily work
Maintain high standards of work
Be familiar with safety standards and the operation of all vehicle types
Drive and operate the vehicles in a safe and conscientious manner
Be a team player with an outstanding attention for detail

Your main duties will include:

Cleaning vehicles internally and externally to the required standard
Checking and adjusting fluid levels
Checking and repairing minor defects such as bulbs, windscreen wipers, etc.
Checking and reporting major defects such as tyres, damage etc.
Working closely and effectively with other departments and individuals

Your secondary duties will include:

Delivery and collection of rental vehicles from customer’s premises
Accurately checking the vehicles at handover/takeover for any damage or defects
Accurately completing the handover/takeover documentation
Demonstrating the use of the vehicles

What can you expect from us?

Excellent rates of pay – £10.00 per hour
22 days’ holiday, increasing to 25 days after 3 full years of service
8 days’ bank holidays – time in lieu given if you must work
