Driver Requirements:

• Drivers must be within the age group for the type of vehicle being hired.
• Drivers must hold the correct category on their licence for the vehicle being hired.
• Drivers must have held a full licence for 2 years (aged 21–24) or 1 year (aged 25–74).
• Check with the office if more than 6 penalty points under 5 years or any driving bans.
• Check with the office if any major driving convictions in the past 3 years. 
• Check with the office if more than 1 fault accident within the last 3 years.

Free Night Before Collection:

Free Night Before Collection is only offered on:

• A when available basis
• With no guarantee
• Can be withdrawn at any time

Payment and Confirmation of Booking:

Your credit/debit card will be debited immediately on completion of the booking process. All online bookings are automated, but do however need to be verified by a member of staff. Therefore your booking request is not fully valid until you have received confirmation from the branch—we will not accept responsibility for hirers assuming the vehicle they have requested has been booked if it has not been confirmed by the issuing branch. 

Security Deposit:

• On collection of the vehicle you will need to pay a refundable security deposit of £100 on a major debit or credit card in the name of the main driver.
• All Deposits may be increased at the discretion of Abacus Staff.
• We accept Visa, MasterCard and Visa Debit.
• Deposits will be fully refunded when the vehicle is returned in the same state as it was let out. Please allow up to 5 working days for the deposit to appear in your bank.
• We do not accept cash, prepaid cards, pay-as-you-go cards or cheque’s.

Collection Documentation:

The following original documents must be presented at the branch at the time of collection (we do not accept photocopies):

• Photographic driving licence. If you have an old paper licence a passport is also required. 
• National insurance number to check your licence status. Or, you can generate a 'share my licence code' from this government website - https://www.gov.uk/view-driving-licence
• Additional form of ID showing current name and address, dated within the last 3 months, e.g. utility bill, bank statement, council tax bill, official letter.
• Additional drivers will also need to produce their licence, NI number and proof of address.
• Debit or credit card to make the security deposit
• If Travelling outside of the UK: Your passport
• If visiting from outside the UK: Your driving licence, passport and return confirmation (flight number etc), along with a contact address of where you will be staying in the UK.

Cancellation Policy:

If your circumstances change and you require the vehicle on different dates or need to cancel the hire, please contact us ASAP. We do not charge a modification fee but an amended reservation will be at the prevailing market rates.

Abacus reserve the right to change any terms and conditions without notice or not comply to the published material if certain circumstances arise. Abacus also reserve the right to refuse to hire or cancel a hire without notice under special circumstances.
