Your credit/debit card will be debited immediately on completion of the booking process. All online bookings are automated, but do however need to be verified by a member of staff. We make every effort to supply the vehicle ordered, but in the unlikely event that there is a problem a member of our team will be in touch to discuss your options.
- On collection of the vehicle you will need to pay a refundable security deposit ranging between £100 and £250 on a major debit or credit card in the name of the main driver.
- All Deposits may be increased at the discretion of Abacus Staff.
- We accept Visa, MasterCard and Visa Debit.
- Deposits will be fully refunded when the vehicle is returned in the same state as it was let out. Please allow up to 5 working days for the deposit to appear in your bank.
- We do not accept cash, prepaid cards, pay-as-you-go cards or cheque’s.
The following original documents must be presented at the branch at the time of collection, FOR EACH DRIVER (we do not accept photocopies). Failure to present the correct documentation, will result in your booking being cancelled:
UK Resident's:
- Driving licence.
- National Insurance Number or Share My Licence Code (see https://www.gov.uk/view-driving-licence).
- Passport - if travelling abroad
- 2 forms of additional ID (showing current name and address, dated within the last 3 months)—e.g. utility bill, bank statement, council tax bill, official letter.
If visiting from outside the UK:
- Driving licence.
- Passport.
- 2 forms of additional ID (showing current name and address, dated within the last 3 months)—e.g. utility bill, bank statement, council tax bill, official letter.
- A contact address of where you will be staying in the UK.
If your circumstances change, please contact the booking branch as soon as possible. The following charges will apply:
Cancellations:
- More than 24 hours notice - no charge
- Less than 24 hours notice - 1 days hire
Amendments:
- We do not charge a modification fee but an amended reservation will be at the prevailing market rates.

The Mercedes Benz A-Class’s new mild-hybrid engines make it more pleasant to drive, more refined, and more economical. For comfort there is height adjustment for both front seats, as well as both cushion angle adjustment and a cushion extension for the driver’s side. The driver’s headroom is 1000mm and the legroom is 1130mm. Rear headroom is 930mm while typical rear legroom is 720mm. The boot capacity is 405 litres with the seats up and 1210 litres with the seats down.
